Today (Monday 9 June 2025), following the outcome of the inquest into the death of 16-year-old Rhianan Rudd in May 2022, Assistant Chief Constable Di Coulson, speaking on behalf of Counter Terrorism Policing in the East Midlands (CTPEM) and Derbyshire Constabulary, said:
1. Anti-Social Behaviour on Parks Estate, Belper
2. Speeding on Town Street, Duffield
3. Anti-Social Behaviour on King Street, Belper
1. Increase patrols within the area, engage with the young people involved in anti-social behaviour. Work alongside our youth engagement team to deliver inputs in schools, educating the young people around the impact anti-social behaviour has on victims and the community. Signpost young people to diversionary activities taking place in the area and issue anti-social behaviour letters to those found engaging in anti-social behaviour. Consideration to be given for other suitable disposals where necessary, such as Acceptable Behaviour Contracts, Immediate Justice.
2. Complete speed checks within the location, work alongside our partners in Crest and our Community Speed Watch groups. Educate drivers around the dangers of speeding and take enforcement action where appropriate.
