I have 19 years’ service with Derbyshire Constabulary.
I have worked in several locations across the force, starting at the High Peak, as response PC, including a number of specialist roles such as Operational Support Policing Unit, DOT, Safer neighbourhood team in Matlock. I pride myself on pro active policing that is visible and committed to tackling crime! I moved to North East Section as a Sgt prior to moving into community partnerships and licensing. I continued to develop myself undertaking roles as a PSU Bronze/CBRN Commander and a force Negotiator. I take real pride in these roles as I really see the influence of helping the public.

In 2021 I was promoted to reactive Insp covering North division, My role was to manage the risk that came into the force and utilise resource’s to effectively safeguard the public.

In April 2024, I became the Amber Valley Insp. As a LPU Inspector I believe it is really important that my team put communities at the centre of what we do. I am responsible for the leadership of our response team and our neighbourhood team’s across the whole Amber Valley.
It is expected that my officers work hard to investigate crime, bring offenders to justice and to protect the vulnerable. It is vital that we are visible and have good working relationships with our partner agencies to make the Amber Valley a safer place to live, work and visit.
I am passionate about delivering a professional service that is victim forced and a service I would expect if I picked the phone up and requested the police in my time of need!

I have been working for Derbyshire Constabulary for over 12 years now. During my service I have worked a number of areas in varying roles. I started my career as a response PC at Buxton then Response PC at Chesterfield. I then joined Chesterfield CID as a Detective, before coming to Amber Valley as the SNT Sergeant looking after Ripley, Belper and Heanor since 2019.

As SNT Sergeant I manage a team of experienced officers who are proactive and driven to keep the residents Amber Valley safe. They are visible in the communities and put victims at the heart of their investigations. I am incredibly proud of the team I manage and the work they do and we will continue to protect the vulnerable, investigate crimes and bring offenders to justice.

I have 19 years’ service with Derbyshire Constabulary, where I have spent all my time working in the Amber Valley area as a PCSO and now as a PCSO Supervisor.

PCSOs are embedded in our communities, offering visibility and reassurance, building trust and confidence, understanding the local issues that affect our communities, and working tirelessly to problem-solve and resolve the issues that have a detrimental impact on people living in, working in, and visiting our communities.

It’s important to put the community at the heart of everything we do, engaging with residents, listening to their concerns and worries, problem-solving, and robustly addressing anti-social behaviour and crime in order to make Amber Valley a safer place to live and work.
