1 Anti-Social Behaviour – The Safer neighbourhood Team will carry out Hi visible patrols in the following locations such as Osmaston Park the Premier shop, Osmaston, Sinfin Asda and Cromarty Close Convenience store Engage with young people through providing educational inputs at schools. Sign posting young people to diversionary activities on the area. Our Youth Engagement team will arrange mobile youth provision with supporting communities . raise awareness on how ASB impacts the Community.
2. Drug dealing - The Team will conduct a mixture of Hi visible and plain clothes patrols in the area. Stop and search those suspected of drug dealing. Gather and develop intelligence, act on Execute warrants for positive outcomes.
3. Nuisance off Road bikes - E scooters - Reports of Nuisance off road bikes on the area have increased. Hi visible Patrols are taking place in hotspot locations such as Fellow lands Estate, Canal Path and Queensgate Drive. Off Road bike team have been utilised on several occasions to assist in combating this issue as have our Neighbouring Melbourne SNT. We will tackle this issue by Working with the community and partner agencies to identify offenders. Riders identified will be issued section 59 warnings or have their bikes seized under S.165 of the road traffic act. Public nuisance prosecutions to be considered for individuals identified.
4. Vulnerability - Cuckooing - We have continued to work closely with the local authority and our partners from the local housing associations. this allows us to share information and identify those at risk of they're properties being taken over by drug dealers. We work together with our partners to ensure we visit our most vulnerable victims regularly, sometimes daily, offering reassurance and support. We have also taken robust action against the offenders, making arrests at the first opportunity and enforcing strict bail conditions, offering an extra layer of support to the victims in these circumstances.
