Plane crash in Ahmedabad
The UK is working with local authorities in India to urgently establish the facts and provide support to those involved.
I have more than 23 years’ service with Derbyshire Constabulary.
I have worked in different roles within the force including Response PC, Safer Neighbourhood PC, Robbery squads, pro-active units, Uniform Task Force, Response Sergeant, Safer neighbourhood Sergeant and now as the Local Policing Inspector for the Derby East.
I have now worked in the Derby East area for 6 years in 3 different roles so I have a good understanding of the issues we face and the importance of community policing.
As a LPU Inspector its my responsibility to make sure this community is at the heart of what we do. I am responsible for the leadership of our response team and our neighbourhood teams who cover Alvaston, Boulton, Sinfin, Osmaston, Allenton, Shelton Lock and Chellaston areas.
I expect that my officers work hard, engage with the communities, protect the vulnerable and bring offenders to justice. We have a good working relationships with our partners and we will continue to build on that so Derby East is a safer place to live and work.
I have more than 20 years and 2 months of service with Derbyshire Constabulary. I received my Long Service Award on Monday 19th May 2025.
I began my service as a PCSO in an area referred to as the Morley Estate (Beat 514), where I worked for five years. Mackworth and Morley then merged. I also worked in Allestree, based at the Park Farm Centre, for 10 years, as well as in Darley Abbey, the West End, and Derby City Centre.
As a PCSO Supervisor, I believe it is really important that my team puts communities at the centre of everything we do. I am responsible for the PCSO team based at Derby East Section. I feel it is important that we instil trust and confidence in our communities, build and maintain strong relationships with local residents and businesses, and ensure we are always approachable and accessible to the public.
I expect my officers to work hard and tackle ASB, while providing solutions to long-term problems and ensuring that our communities feel safe. They should gather intelligence, seek engagement opportunities, and protect the most vulnerable in our communities from exploitation and harm. It is vital that we are visible and maintain good working relationships with our partner agencies to make Derby East a safer place to live, work, and visit.
