I’m Inspector Charlotte Pigott and I am responsible for policing in Erewash. I began my career in Swadlincote as a Special Constable for two years before joining as a Police Constable in 2016 at Derby West at Peartree Police Station. Over my ten years of service, I’ve covered all of South Division and worked on response policing as well as investigations. My career has all been in uniformed policing, including being a trained public order officer. I first began at Erewash as a Constable and then progressed through the ranks to Sergeant and Inspector whilst working here. Since then, I have worked as both a Reactive and Local Policing Unit Inspector in the city before returning to Erewash in September 2025. My focus has always been on making the area a safer place for everyone.
I have 23 years’ service with Derbyshire Constabulary.
I have spent my entire career in uniformed front line, working at every Section in South Division.
The main part of my service has been as a response PC, and response Sgt, and now Safer Neighbourhood Sgt for Ilkeston.
As a Safer Neighbourhoods Sgt I make sure that my team put communities at the centre of what we do.
I am responsible for the leadership of the Safer Neighbourhood Team based at Ilkeston Police Station.
It is expected that my officers work hard to investigate crime, bring offenders to justice and to protect the vulnerable.
It is vital that we are visible and have good working relationships with our partner agencies to make Erewash a safer place to live, work and visit.

I have more than 25 years’ service with Derbyshire Constabulary.
For the last 20 years I have worked at Ilkeston, as a Police Community Support Officer and now as the PCSO Supervisor covering Erewash Safer Neighbourhood Team.
As a PCSO Supervisor I believe it is really important that my team put communities at the centre of what we do. I am responsible for the leadership of the PCSO’s across Erewash based at two stations at Ilkeston and Long Eaton.
It is expected that my staff work hard to deal with neighbourhood problems and to protect the vulnerable. It is vital that we are visible and have good working relationships with our partner agencies to make Erewash a safer place to live, work and visit.
