Purposes and commitments
Police officers and staff at Derbyshire Constabulary are committed to doing the right thing, making a difference and shaping the future. We all work with these principles in mind, upholding these organisational values with pride.
We also have a set of priorities, three key aims that shape the way we work and improve the outcomes for our communities. These priorities have been jointly agreed across our senior management team and influence what we do every day to keep our county safe.
We are driven to be the best that we can be and provide excellent public service - putting the victims at the heart of our work, engaging with our communities and partners.
- Doing the right thing
- Making a difference
- Shaping the future.
- Being an excellent public service.
This will include putting victims at the heart of our service, preventing harm especially to the most vulnerable, delivering a high quality policing service, spreading good news and engaging with communities, making our partnership with Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service the best in the country.
- Looking after our people.
This means we will be an inclusive employer of choice for all faiths, backgrounds and genders, enable people to bring the best of themselves to work, empower people to innovate and take responsibility, as well as caring for them in good times and bad.
- Using technology in all aspects of our work.
We want to employ new and emerging technology to modernise our services, develop tools to analyse data intelligently so that we can make better decisions, use drones to support everyday business, and provide taser training to every frontline officer who wants it.
