1Targeted High visible patrols at peak times to build intelligence and information to deter drug dealing activity. Visit schools and carry out early engagement for prevention education and intervention. Progress and action Community lead intelligence by carrying out drugs warrants in the local area. Drug Warrants have been executed by the safer neighbourhood team and trading standards at numerous locations on the area resulting in Drugs and counterfeit tobacco being seized with positive results
2. High visible patrols and plain clothes patrols have taken place in areas identified to deter Anti Social behaviour. We work closely with our partners to identify those responsible and hold them to account. Tea and Coffee mornings have been set up on a monthly basis with partner agencies at Slaney Close Community Room. This allows the community to access our services and speak to us in a friendly environment with confidence about any concerns or issues they have about the local area.
3. Targeted operations and High visibility patrols to build intelligence and information around knife crime and weapons. Op Sceptre is a national, weeklong initiative to tackle knife crime. Knife Sweeps which take place at local parks and green spaces. Schools inputs are delivered to focus on education and early engagement, prevention and enforcement to crack down on weapons-related crime and violence. Amnesty bins are placed in the Community where you can safely dispose of a knife. Derby Recently Alvaston SNT managed to locate and detain a group of males. with the help of ARV and section officers, Stop and searches of the males located 3 weapons including a Machete, a "Rambo" style knife and locking flick knife as well as a large quantity of drugs. All three males arrested for PWITs and Possession of Weapons. A great example of team work and proactive policing in detaining dangerous offenders and undoubtedly preventing further offences.
