I'm Inspector Fowkes. I'm one of the officers responsible for neighbourhood policing in the Allestree and Darley, Chaddesden and Spondon, Derby City, Derwent and Oakwood, Mackworth and Morley neighbourhoods. You can reach my team directly by clicking on the ‘Contact Us’ tab.

I have worked for Derbyshire Constabulary as a Police Officer for 19 years, and I have managed this Safer Neighbourhood Team for the past three years.
Prior to this role, I was a Sergeant on response teams. As a PC, I worked across various areas in Derby, with my longest spell of eight years spent as a Response/Investigation Officer at Derby West.
My team and I are strongly committed to targeting those who cause harm, while also reassuring the community, developing strong collaborative relationships with partners, and, crucially making ourselves as available to the public as possible.
This is the best role I have had, and I feel privileged to be in a position where I can retain and recapture some of the traditional values of community policing within a modern and evolving environment. Despite spending nearly half of my life in the police, I have never lost my energy or sight of the ideals that inspired me to apply when I was 18.
I have a fantastic group of PCs and PCSOs who are often seen walking the streets, making themselves visible. However, there are also times when they won’t be seen—sometimes working in plain clothes, disrupting and searching for specific individuals, or executing drugs warrants, for example. While I can’t list every aspect of what is a very varied job, the driving force for my team and me each day is to deal robustly with offenders and ensure the decent, law-abiding public feels safe. To me, it is unacceptable for anyone to suffer a diminished quality of life due to the poor behaviour of others or anti-social behaviour.
When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family and can occasionally be found in the gym.
