Your Safer Neighbourhood team (SNT) is a group of local police officers, Police Community Support Officers and Specials dedicated to serving your community.
We are proud to work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for the area. This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on preventing and reducing crime, protecting the vulnerable and providing reassurance across Derbyshire.
1: Anti Social behaviour on Caxton park
2: Speeding and nuisance parking ( Community Survey)
3: Op Pindell- Theft of tools from motor vehicles
Issued 08 April 2025
1: High visibility patrols aimed at deterring the young people involved in the Anti Social Behaviour ( ASB) identifying any offences and signposting them to a relevant intervention agency. Reports of begging outside shop fronts, deter, prevent and support/ safeguard individuals involved in this. Patrol strategies to be implemented to decrease the occurrence.
2: Following community surveys, the public have highlighted speeding issues as being one of their primary concerns in the area. Police generated speedwatch have been conducted and CREST have been advised of issues on main thoroughfares. Working in partnership with Derby City Councils Public Protection Officers and Traffic Management we conduct regular joint patrols, disrupting and deterring nuisance parking, and taking enforcement action proactively.
3: With a rise in theft of tools or other items from motor vehicles, in particular building vans, we have an engagement plan aimed at visiting builders merchants, hotels where contractors are staying and pop up engagement stands to offer crime prevention advice and tools to minimise the risk of this offence. Colleagues within the Local Policing Unit are aware and patrol overnight.
