Today (Monday 9 June 2025), following the outcome of the inquest into the death of 16-year-old Rhianan Rudd in May 2022, Assistant Chief Constable Di Coulson, speaking on behalf of Counter Terrorism Policing in the East Midlands (CTPEM) and Derbyshire Constabulary, said:
1 -Stoney Middleton - Nuisance off-road motorbikes and associated anti-social behaviour
2 - Speeding
1. Nuisance off-road motorbikes:
- Deploy Safer Neighbourhood Officers to conduct regular patrols in and around the area to deter illegal off-road biking Partnership Working:
- Collaborate with local councils, landowners, and partner agencies to explore preventative measures (e.g., barriers, signage).
Intelligence-Led Approach:
- Monitor reports and review crime trends to identify peak times and repeat offenders. Share updates with the community to maintain transparency and reassurance.
2. Speeding Vehicles:
- Speed Enforcement and Education by Trained Safer Neighbourhood Officers.
- Enforcement by Casualty Reduction Enforcement Support Police Team Enforcement and Education by Police Roads Policing Teams.
- Support from Community Speed Watch Groups.
