Your Safer Neighbourhood Team
Your Safer Neighbourhood team (SNT) is a group of local police officers, Police Community Support Officers and Specials dedicated to serving your community.
We are proud to work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for the area. This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on preventing and reducing crime, protecting the vulnerable and providing reassurance across Derbyshire.

1. Retail crime – targeting repeat offenders.

1. Officers to conduct regular patrols in the town centre and surrounding areas. Regular engagement visits will be conducted with retail premises within the Long Eaton area to provide reassurance and offer crime prevention advice. Engagement with key stakeholders such as local businesses and shop owners. Review incident reports using police data to identify any individuals involved and take robust action to prevent deterioration of crimes and incidents being reported.
2. SNT officers will attend and assist in the investigation of all reports of vehicle crimes. Increased high visibility and plain clothes patrols to be conducted in hot-spot areas to detect and disrupt criminal activity. Deliver crime prevention advice, including ensuring vehicles are locked and high value items are removed from vehicles.
3. Educate members of the public around the law of e-scooters. High visibility patrols to be conducted to identify and take positive action against riders of e-scooters. This will include seizing the e-scooter using powers under Section 165A of the Road Traffic Act 1988. There is no longer any requirement in Derbyshire to warn the rider. E-scooters will be seized, and the rider reported for the offences accordingly. Once seized, there is no option of the rider / owner claiming the e-scooter back.
