Plane crash in Ahmedabad
The UK is working with local authorities in India to urgently establish the facts and provide support to those involved.
I have more than 20 years of service with Derbyshire Constabulary.
During this time, I have worked across the south of the county, including previous tenures at Erewash as a Response PC, Safer Neighbourhoods PC, Response Sergeant, Response Inspector, and now as a Local Policing Unit (LPU) Inspector.
Communities are at the heart of policing, and I believe the police should be visible, approachable, and accountable to the public. I place great value on working with partners and stakeholders to develop social capital within a community. I oversee the response and neighbourhood teams based in both Ilkeston and Long Eaton.
As an LPU Inspector, I aim to instil an ethos of partnership and long-term prevention to reduce failure demand and prevent crime and anti-social behaviour. I expect my officers to work hard to investigate crime, bring offenders to justice, and protect the vulnerable.
As part of my day-to-day role, I am also committed to improving mental health support and wellbeing for officers across the force.
I have worked for Derbyshire Constabulary since August 2005. During this time I have worked in a variety of roles both in uniform and plain clothes and worked as a Sgt on LPU, SNT and Operations Division.
I am currently based at Long Eaton SNT on Tamworth Road (Long Eaton Fire Station) where I have the privilege of supervising a hard-working cohesive team who deliver a valued output to the force and community of Long Eaton.
I have more than 25 years’ service with Derbyshire Constabulary.
For the last 20 years I have worked at Ilkeston, as a Police Community Support Officer and now as the PCSO Supervisor covering Erewash Safer Neighbourhood Team.
As a PCSO Supervisor I believe it is really important that my team put communities at the centre of what we do. I am responsible for the leadership of the PCSO’s across Erewash based at two stations at Ilkeston and Long Eaton.
It is expected that my staff work hard to deal with neighbourhood problems and to protect the vulnerable. It is vital that we are visible and have good working relationships with our partner agencies to make Erewash a safer place to live, work and visit.
