I’m Inspector Charlotte Pigott and I am responsible for policing in Erewash. I began my career in Swadlincote as a Special Constable for two years before joining as a Police Constable in 2016 at Derby West at Peartree Police Station. Over my ten years of service, I’ve covered all of South Division and worked on response policing as well as investigations. My career has all been in uniformed policing, including being a trained public order officer. I first began at Erewash as a Constable and then progressed through the ranks to Sergeant and Inspector whilst working here. Since then, I have worked as both a Reactive and Local Policing Unit Inspector in the city before returning to Erewash in September 2025. My focus has always been on making the area a safer place for everyone.
I started to work for Derbyshire in 2018 as a DSI (Detective staff investigator) and then joined uniform after a completing my detective qualifications. I have worked in a variety of different roles in different units working CID, Derby City LPU, CAG teams, Custody Investigations, Swadlincote LPU and now I am a SGT in Long Eaton SNT.

I have more than 25 years’ service with Derbyshire Constabulary.
For the last 20 years I have worked at Ilkeston, as a Police Community Support Officer and now as the PCSO Supervisor covering Erewash Safer Neighbourhood Team.
As a PCSO Supervisor I believe it is really important that my team put communities at the centre of what we do. I am responsible for the leadership of the PCSO’s across Erewash based at two stations at Ilkeston and Long Eaton.
It is expected that my staff work hard to deal with neighbourhood problems and to protect the vulnerable. It is vital that we are visible and have good working relationships with our partner agencies to make Erewash a safer place to live, work and visit.

1 – Anti-social behaviour
2 – Retail shop theft
3 – Acquisitive crime patrols
Issued 23 March 2026
1 – Anti-social behaviour Continuation of work with partners to maximise the use of tools and powers to deal with individuals persistently causing anti-social behaviour including those in retail premises. Visible patrols will continue in hotspot areas to deter issues, including where we anticipate will become popular in the warmer months and that have a large volume of youth related anti-social behaviour.
2 – Retail shop theft Continue liaison with retail stores (including small supermarkets) in relation to shop thefts. To include target hardening, identification of repeat offenders, and reduce the reward by identifying those found to be fraudulently purchasing these stolen goods. Additional visible and plain clothes patrols will be undertaken.
3 – Acquisitive crime patrols Continue visible presence in our rural areas following an increase in acquisitive crime. Engagement with residents to be developed, including appropriate referrals to the Safer Homes scheme to provide target hardening advice. Crime pattern analysis to be continued to identify trends and offenders to influence patrols.
