Tackling drug supply & use
Anti-social behaviour
Theft from retail outlets and shops
Issued 01 April 2026
Drug supply affects communities and individuals. It targets the vulnerable living amongst us as well as our surroundings & infrastructure, placing pressure on already overworked services. To reduce these issues, we will conduct targeted enforcement & high visibility by using stop search powers and proactively patrolling hot spot areas used for drug use. We are always looking to gather intelligence, and we continue to share information with numerous partners and the community and would implore anyone to come forward with information, we are holding local engagements to allow the public to see us face to face. We will also as always be out in vehicles and on foot across the estate and wider Fairfield in areas you are concerned about in relation to drug use Anti-social behaviour (ASB) comes in all forms, but the effect on the community & individuals can be devastating if not tackled. We will target patrols in hot spot area’s using powers under the ASB act, this can be injunctions, criminal behaviour orders or other orders under the act. We will look at youth ASB along with vehicle ASB which we will tackle utilising s59 powers. Working with partners such as High Peak Borough Council and housing we will implore them to use their powers to prevent anti-social behaviour utilising statutory legislation. Where possible we will look for educational rehabilitation for offenders which aims to prevent further instances of ASB in the area.
Theft from shops affects us all, with price increases and local confidence. Close partnership work with retailer/behaviour orders high visibility police presence. We will be educating the retail premises on what to look for and what to report to look to reduce retail theft and will provide shop theft packs for a quick robust response.
