Road Safety incorporating parking as well as speeding
Issued 01 October 2026
• Conducting speed monitoring and enforcement operations at locations identified through community reports.
• Using speed gun and police patrols to identify drivers exceeding the speed limit and to deter unsafe driving.
• Increasing police visibility in areas where speeding and anti-social vehicle use have been reported.
• Working with local councillors, residents and partner agencies to address road safety concerns and identify problem locations.
• Continuing to monitor reports from the community and planning targeted operations where intelligence suggests there are ongoing issues. The local policing team is encouraging residents to continue reporting incidents of anti-social driving, speeding, dangerous overtaking, excessive vehicle noise, or nuisance vehicle activity. Community information helps officers’ direct patrols and enforcement activity to the areas where it is most needed
