Plane crash in Ahmedabad
The UK is working with local authorities in India to urgently establish the facts and provide support to those involved.
For the High Peak area we have two neighbourhood teams; Glossop SNT cover the northern half of the High Peak Policing area whilst Buxton SNT cover the south, both areas have a mix of both rural and town centre beats. Some of our beats are miles of open countryside which is beautiful to look but is a work place for our farming communities and a recreational space for our visitors. We understand that different areas of our communities need different neighbourhood policing support and engagement from us at different times. We work closely with our partner agencies such as Peak District National Park, High Peak BC and Derbyshire Fire and Rescue to keep all who live, work and visit here safe.
Speeding & Anti-Social driving Parking
Issued 22 April 2025
We receive many complaints about this and there is strong concerns about the high number of serious injury RTC’s and unfortunately fatal on the local roads especially over the summer months, due to this we are running Operation Cruiser this summer where there will be more speed enforcement by local officers and from our Roads Policing Team (Traffic). In recent weeks we have issued many tickets with some motorists caught speeding above 80 and 90mph in a 50mph limit. As well as this we will be looking at all other aspects of traffic offences to hopefully deter some from using the local roads as a racetrack. We as a team have been fully aware of the parking issues across the whole of the area for the past few years but can only deal with a limited number of parking offences ourselves. Thankfully, recently other agencies are finally recognising the problem and starting to work together to look at long term and short-term solutions although the numbers visiting the area are very high and will always be an issue. We are in contact with the councils Civil Parking Enforcement Team who issue a lot of parking tickets but please report to them on call Derbyshire 01629 533190 to make them aware of any issues.
