For the High Peak area we have two neighbourhood teams; Glossop SNT cover the northern half of the High Peak Policing area whilst Buxton SNT cover the south, both areas have a mix of both rural and town centre beats. Some of our beats are miles of open countryside which is beautiful to look but is a work place for our farming communities and a recreational space for our visitors. We understand that different areas of our communities need different neighbourhood policing support and engagement from us at different times. We work closely with our partner agencies such as Peak District National Park, High Peak BC and Derbyshire Fire and Rescue to keep all who live, work and visit here safe.

Issued 01 July 2026
Speeding
Speeding has been raised as an issue and will be one of our priorities to improve road safety for all road users in our community. We continue to see speeding being one of the biggest contributing factors in serious and fatal collisions.
Action –
• Regular speed enforcement check sites will be conducted, and enforcement will be carried out where necessary.
• A new community speed watch group has been set up in Whaley Bridge and will be supported by the Whaley Bridge safer neighbourhood team.
Acquisitive Crime – Shed Breaks
We have recently seen reports in our community of thefts from Sheds/garages stealing tools and machinery. Any kind of theft has a detrimental impact on our local communities and is a key priority for us to tackle
Action -
• We will be stepping up the number of proactive patrols both in vehicles and on foot.
• Utilising ANPR cameras to identify and disrupt those using the roads to commit these crimes
• We will hold bike and tool marking events to help you secure your property.
Anti-Social Behaviour
In recent months there has been increased number of ASB incidents around memorial park and the surrounding areas. We understand the impacts that these incidents have on the area.
Action –
• Targeted high visibility patrols to disrupt ASB in this area.
• We will be utilising our policing powers to deal with ASB robustly
• We will continue to work closely with our partners in the area including schools, parish council, park rangers and High Peak borough council. Please report any ASB through Derbyshire police website or via 101. In an emergency always use 999. You can also report Littering and parking issues to the council.
