Anti-Social Behaviour: In recent months there has been increased number of ASB incidents around memorial park and the surrounding areas. With the darker nights and seasonal events approaching we will continue to prioritise ASB and will continue work with the community and local partner agencies to disrupt and deal with those committing ASB robustly. We understand the impacts that these incidents have on the area.
Action:
• Targeted high visibility patrols to disrupt ASB in this area.
• We will be utilising our policing powers to deal with ASB robustly
• We will continue to work closely with our partners in the area including schools, parish council, park rangers and High Peak borough council. Please report any ASB through Derbyshire police website or via 101. In an emergency always use 999.
Nuisance vehicles: We’re aware of vehicles locally being used in a anti social manner, popping of exhausts, excessively revving and being general nuisance in Whaley Bridge. This has been brought to our attention a number of times and we are keen to tackle this issue.
Action:
• We will utilise intelligence and local ANPR to proactively patrol and disrupt those who use vehicles to cause a nuisance on our communities.
• We will take action by using our ASB and road policing powers to issue S59’s, traffic offence reports and seizure powers to prosecute and take these drivers and vehicles off the road. you can also report Littering and parking issues to the council.
Illegal E-Bikes: We have been informed about the increase of illegal E-bikes utilising the roads and footpaths in the local area. Illegal E-bikes are those that are not road worthy, adapted to be driven without the need for pedalling and do not have the correct documentation required to be driven on a road. We are aware of those who use these bikes to facilitate committing other crimes and will look to disrupt those who use them.
Action:
• Intelligence led high visibility patrols to identify hotspots.
• Engage with riders and the wider community and take proportionate action where offences are identified.
