Speeding
Parking
Anti-social behaviour
Issued 01 April 2026
Speeding has been raised as an issue and will be one of our priorities to improve road safety for all road users in our community. We continue to see speeding being one of the biggest contributing factors in serious and fatal collisions. Action –
· Regular speed enforcement check sites will be conducted and enforcement will be carried out where necessary.
· A new community speedwatch group has been set up in Whaley Bridge and will be supported by the Whaley Bridge safer neighbourhood team.
Parking Concerns have been raised recently about the parking in and around all our local schools and in certain residential areas.
Action -
· We as a team are looking at educating motorists and will continue patrolling in the areas at the relevant times.
· Action has been taken where vehicles are parked in a dangerous manner that impacts the safety of other road users We would encourage anyone who is wanting to report illegal parking to the councils Civil Parking Enforcement Team who are responsible for most parking offences like double yellow lines. You can do this by calling Call Derbyshire on 01629 533190 or emailing [email protected]/
Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) has been identified as another issue effecting the community in Whaley Bridge. ASB ranges from nuisance neighbours, littering, illegal gatherings, anti social driving and drug use.
Action –
· We are tackling these issues through targeted proactive patrols both in vehicles and on foot, utilising our policing powers through stop searches, S59 warnings/vehicle seizures as well as working with our local partners to reduce the impact these issues have on our communities. Please report any ASB through Derbyshire police website or via 101. In an emergency always use 999. You can also report Littering and parking issues to the council.
