I have been in force now for more than 20 years both as a regular officer and a special constable.
I have had a variety of roles during my career including a response PC at Alfreton and a safer neighbourhood officer covering Pinxton and South Normanton.
I spent two years seconded to Leicestershire Police working at East Midlands Airport then returned to force in 2007 on promotion to the force operations room that answers emergency and non-emergency calls for service.
Since then I have worked as a patrol Sgt in Ilkeston, spent seven years in the community safety partnership at Erewash Borough Council and have worked in custody.
In 2019 I was promoted to Inspector which has seen my carrying out roles such as reactive Inspector, local policing unit Inspector and working in Derbyshire Dales.
My main aims whilst leading the local policing unit for North East is to strengthen partnership working, tackling anti-social behaviour (ASB) and working with our communities to protect the most vulnerable.
Bolsover and North East have many vibrant towns and villages where people should feel safe to live, work and visit and I want my officers and staff to be an integral part of these communities.
We have incredibly strong partnership working embedded already but we are not complacent and continue to build on those areas where we can work together to reduce crime and ASB and bring offenders to justice.
Speeding, specifically people using the roads in Barlborough as a race track.
Issued 10 December 2022
This has been raised at the Parish Council meeting and Cuppa with a Copper Events held in the Village that lots of speeding vehicles are using the old and new parts of Barlborough as a race track.
The local SNT will speak with our traffic officers and try to sort a day of action out to try to tackle some of the speeding as well as working with Crest in the more prominent areas. Speed awareness leaflets will be left in local shops and Parish Council Offices. SNT will conduct High Visibility patrols and take the Speed Gun out to problem areas and issue tickets and advise. Any Incident reported will be followed up and appropriate action taken.
Social Media will be used to send messages and information out regarding speeding and consequences.
