Your Safer Neighbourhood Team
For the High Peak area we have two neighbourhood teams; Glossop SNT cover the northern half of the High Peak Policing area whilst Buxton SNT cover the south, both areas have a mix of both rural and town centre beats. Some of our beats are miles of open countryside which is beautiful to look but is a work place for our farming communities and a recreational space for our visitors. We understand that different areas of our communities need different neighbourhood policing support and engagement from us at different times. We work closely with our partner agencies such as Peak District National Park, High Peak BC and Derbyshire Fire and Rescue to keep all who live, work and visit here safe.

Nuisance youths
Dangerous driving

Nuisance youths/teenagers: Many Gamesley residents highlight their frustrations with nuisance youths, particularly around Winster Mews.
Action to date:
- Identified the updated dynamics and the different groups
- Identified who is associated with which nuisance behaviour
- Identified key locations, blocking access where possible
- Attending schools to provide educational inputs on behaviours and consequences
Upcoming action:
- Work directly with the youths involved to provide education and further measures where appropriate.
- Continue to engage with residents to understand what happens outside of the police presence.
- Maintain a visible presence through high visibility foot patrols and spot checks on key locations.
- Engage with partners to aid redirection of the youths’ attention.Dangerous driving/nuisance bikes: Residents of Gamesley and St Johns are continuing to highlight the impact of dangerous driving within the area, from cars and vans to sur-rons and e-bikes.
Action to date:
- Following a number of reports about nuisance bikes on the Long Lane entrance to the Gamesley Woods Trail, we have taken steps to make this safe for the intended users.
- Increased patrols to decrease usage

- Share updates through Derbyshire Alert and Facebook We are supporting Speed Watch – please contact us if you would like to be involved Through our community engagement and priority surveys, there has been an increasing mention of drug usage within the area, so we are basing a new priority on your concerns.
